ABOUT THIS RESOURCE

How GJEL Reviews and Updates These Guides

We explain California law in short, named sections and link readers to the sources behind the explanation.

How we research California injury law

Research starts with statutes, court opinions, court instructions, and official agency pages. Those sources have different roles. We distinguish a general rule from a made-up example, an agency instruction, and a case with its own facts and limits.

How attorney approval and corrections are recorded

New legal content remains a draft until its actual review is recorded. Changed explanations need a fresh review of what changed. Source retrieval dates and attorney review dates are separate. To raise a correction, contact GJEL and identify the page and the point you want checked.

Legal and agency sources for this page

Use the sources to read the underlying rule or current official process. A source link is not personal legal advice.
